November 07-- The NIA has reportedly cracked the Bodh Gaya serial blasts case with some conclusive evidence pointing towards the role of a “Ranchi module” of the Indian Mujahideen in the attack that left five injured at a famous Buddhist shrine in July.

The National Investigation Agency also indicated that the same module had executed the serial blasts during Narendra Modi’s “hunkar rally” here on October 27 in which six people were killed and 83 seriously injured. Sources said the agency unearthed important leads on Tuesday when they raided a lodge in Hindpidhi area of Ranchi in search of some other suspects.

During the search, NIA sleuths recovered 27 bombs and charts with the names of persons who were assigned to plant 13 bombs in the Mahabodhi temple complex in Bodh Gaya. According to the documented plan, Tahseen Akhtar and Haider Ali were the main conspirators along with other bomb planters involved in the Patna blasts.

While stating that there is no doubt about the involvement of the Indian Mujahideen, Bihar DGP Abhayanand denied that lapses on the side of the Bihar police had led to the explosions. Imtiaz Ansari, who was arrested after a bomb explosion at Patna Junction ahead of the BJP rally, has reportedly confessed to his role in the blasts.

The chart’s matrix revealed that Imtiaz had planted bombs near the Thai monastery in Bodh Gaya. And his accomplice Ainul alias Tarique, who was injured while planting bombs at the Patna railway station and later died, had planted bombs at the Targhar monastery.

The huge cache of explosives seized from Ranchi and their similarities with bombs that exploded at Bodh Gaya and Patna helped to a great extent in cracking the blasts, which hit the state in a quick succession within four months.

The Ranchi police, along with NIA officials, continued its search operations to arrest some other Indian Mujahideen suspects.
