Thich Nhat Hanh in North America to Nourish Great Togetherness

In the late summer and fall of 2013, Thich Nhat Hanh will be traveling and teaching across North America with a delegation of monks and nuns. The tour includes six multi-day retreats, five public talks, six days of mindfulness, and one peace walk. The teachings will be primarily in English though the tour also includes two retreats in Vietnamese. The tour will begin on August 11 with a 5-day retreat at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.

All the tour events are open to any person regardless of experience; families and children are also welcome to attend. The fees vary from free to donation to hundreds of dollars (for the retreats). The fees help cover the cost of renting facilities, providing food and accommodations for attendees, and transportation for the delegation. Scholarships are available for all events, and people should communicate their real need when planning attendance.

Tickets and registration for events will become available at various times throughout the coming months. The first events available will be on January 8 for the retreats at Deer Park Monastery in Escondido, California. Please check each of the respective events on this site for more detailed information. Here is a summary of all events as of today (January 3, 2013):
