The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization is calling for $8 million in aid to help Nepalese farmers during this time of crisis in the country. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that shook Nepal last week, has killed thousands and has left approximately 3.5 million in need of food assistance. According to FAO, this call for aid is urgently needed to help farmers rapidly recover lost agricultural inputs. They must also resume preparations for the upcoming rice sowing season set to start in mid-to-late May.
