Buddha Gaya in Bihar can be considered as heart of all worldwide Buddhists. It has a history of 2600 years.
Today this sacred place was targeted with a serious of bomb explosions by inhumane, extremist terrorists. We express our deepest condolences in this regard and we join with you to condemn this barbarous and brutal attack on Buddhists’s most sacred place.
If you can remember, there was a tragic incident happened in Afghanistan which caused a destruction of gigantic and historic Buddha statues. It shocked Buddhists all over the world and the people and the government of Afghanistan are suffering the consequences of that sin. Anyone can’t escape from the law of Karma and no place can be found to escape. People who take weapon will be destroyed by weapon. This is an eternal truth. This is greatly demonstrated from what is happening in that country.
As Buddhists, let’s be watchful on this incident with patience. Everyone should understand that impermanent nature. Anyone shouldn’t be pride with their power which may arise from weapon or anything else.
As World Buddhist Sangha Youth of Sri Lanka, we strongly condemn this tragic incident. We wish speedy and restful recovery to Burmese and Tibet monks who were wounded in this tragedy. Finally, we hope that Indian and Bihar government would bring all the responsible culprits into justice.
May triple gem bless you!
