India by the Bay, a festival focusing on India’s performing arts, cultural dynamism, and contemporary offerings of literature, music, and theater, is hosting Shantum Seth in an immersive workshop on Buddhist practice at 7.00 p.m. on 1 March at Ovolo Southside Hotel in Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong.

A teacher and a guide to the sites associated with the Buddha, Shantum Seth is an ordained teacher (Dharmacharya) in the Zen tradition of Vietnamese Master Thich Nhat Hanh. He teaches in India and other countries and has been leading the acclaimed pilgrimages called “In the Footsteps of the Buddha” since 1988.

Attendees of the workshop will enjoy a meditation session, a conversation about the Buddha and Buddhist trails shared by India and China, and a mindful eating experience over a vegetarian meal. Ticket prices are HK$250 and include the price of the meal.

Tickets are purchasable at the Asia Society website, on the right side of the webpage. Please click on "Buddhist Day—In the Footsteps of the Buddha" to buy yours.

Held from 24 February to 1 March this year, India by the Bay is a festival co-presented by Asia Society Hong Kong Center and Teamwork. It was first held in 2015, and after the success of its first run this year’s second edition will offer a wider range of programming, bringing India’s cultural dynamism to Hong Kong and reflecting the country’s artistic depth and diversity. The festival is dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships between the people of Hong Kong and India. See the full range of cultural and artistic events for this year’s festival at the Asia Society website.
