Please join us in celebrating Pema’s 77th birthday by taking part in our second annual birthday retreat. On this day, Pema invites you to meditate for a few hours or for the entire day, alone or with friends. Pema’s deepest hope is that this will help us plant the seed of peace in our own hearts, in our homes and in our communities. Join thousands from around the world to help make this a reality.

Pema has filmed a teaching just for this occasion, offering advice, encouragement, and meditation instruction. All you need to do it register and we will email you the link to the video on July 1. You’ll be able to listen to this whenever you want, and as often as you want.

Since people will be participating from all over the world, there’s no set time to begin the retreat. You can take part by meditating during the time that best suits you in your time zone, whether it is for a few hours, or entire day. This could be done alone at home, or together with friends. You might consider having a meal together and sharing favorite quotes or teachings during the retreat.

This retreat and the teachings from Pema are free, and open to everyone. If you’re able and inspired, please consider making an offering to Pema’s Nepal Nuns project. Thanks to the generosity of many of you from around the world, we’ve been able to begin the building of ‘Pema Chödrön Drupde’, a new three-year retreat center for the nuns of Tsoknyi Gechak Ling nunnery in the hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. This year, we’re focusing on supporting these nuns in their study and retreat.

Please register soon. Pema is looking forward to sharing her birthday with you and she would love to know who will be taking part and where you are from. Last year, 11,000 people joined in from 101 countries – from Ukraine to Uganda, and from Tajikistan to Tibet. Please let others know about this wonderful opportunity to help celebrate Pema’s birthday and help bring peace into our lives and throughout the world.
