holiday.
Violators are liable to a six-month jail sentence and/or a 10,000 baht fine. |

sect is strongly protesting the government’s new address system in which
some streets named after temples have been given new names unrelated to
Buddhism. |

Washington D.C., USA -- The Dalai Lama made remarks in
both English and Tibetan on the opening day of the Kalachakra. Even
though I don’t speak the language, I found myself equally engaged when
he spoke Tibetan. As I watched him, I recalled seeing His Holiness link
arms with George Bush a few years ago when he received the Congressional
Gold Medal. |

his preparatory rituals. Thereafter, he visited the offices of Radio
Free Asia where he was received by its President Libby Liu and other
